Allison Guilbault
Mindful Mental Health
You are not your trauma.

My name is Allison and I am a Licensed Therapist who specializes in trauma.
Trauma is an emotional response to a excruciatingly distressing event.
How people respond to trauma varies greatly, but one thing is for certain:
You are not your trauma.
Your trauma is something that happened to you.
It does not define you.
You can find your power again.
The very nature of trauma robs people of their empowerment, makes them feel unsafe, steals their confidence.
But if trauma can change a life, so can healing.
More than 80% of survivors of trauma reported a significant improvement in their life satisfaction after seeing a trauma-informed therapist.

Let me help.

You don't have to do this alone.
I have over a decade of experience working with survivors of trauma. I have four degrees relating to mental health and psychology and spent a large portion of my career studying trauma responses across a variety of settings and applications. I was a sexual assault counselor at a major NYC hospital, an international trauma counselor in Sri Lanka following a civil war and tsunami, a mental health provider at Rikers Island in solitary confinement, and have worked closely with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in research on trauma responses to sexual violence.
I work with clients to help them reestablish a connection to their innate and inherent self-love and worth. I will guide you through your healing, teach you tools on how to release the power of your trauma experience, and will help you reconnect to your confidence, self-love and empowerment
Two Models to Choose From:
1
WEEKLY SESSIONS
Weekly sessions are appropriate for the client who is looking for continual support, wants to not only address the underlying trauma, but is also looking for a safe space to process daily life stressors and learn coping skills. This client may need just a little more hand-holding and wish to take it a bit slower, so they can process in a healthy manner.
(Note: availability for weekly sessions may be limited)
2
THERAPY INTENSIVES
Therapy intensives are designed for clients that have limited availability, are looking for quick action and fast results in addressing their trauma. Think of it as way to get a few months of therapy in just a few sessions. therapy intensives may involve techniques not offered in weekly therapy such as emdr, visualizations, and in-session somatic processing, so it may be perfect for the client who feels they have not gotten the results they desired in traditional therapy.
